(Dec 12, 2017 - Loyalist, ON) - On Monday, December 11, 2017 around noon hour officers with the Loyalist Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to an assault that had occurred in the parking lot of a convenience store in Odessa.
Officers learned that the father and son were in the store when the son got into a physical altercation with another youth, and the father prevented onlookers from stopping the altercation.
The father, a 49 year old male, has been charged with Counselling an Offence, and his 16 year old son has been charged with Assault. The father was released on a Promise to Appear and has a first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on January 16, 2018. The son was released on a Promise to Appear and has his first court appearance on the 2nd of January 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee.
